Physical Therapy
So I finally got the VA to approve some more physical therapy for my shoulder, only this time I was able to get them to authorize me to use a local provider instead of having to drive two hours to Spokane.
I had my first visit today at Profitness, and I have to say I am really impressed. It was the first time that anyone actually looked at my whole shoulder area, not just the joint. He even did it on his own without me saying anything. Then in more detail he described exactly what I have been trying to say is the problem for the last several years.
Just like I have been saying, the problem is not the join it self where the injury happened, the problem is the muscles around the shoulder blade and up in the peck area. They make it so my shoulder blade doesn’t work properly, which causes pain and lack of range of motion. He used his body weight to physically hold my shoulder blade where it was suppose to be and suddenly not only did I increase my range of motion drastically, but it was also painless!
Needless to say I am very impressed with this guy, and I am looking forward to the routine he has me set up on to hopefully retrain my muscles and strengthen their support around my shoulder.
